Prayer is foundational to Calvary Chapel life. Beyond Sunday altar calls, churches maintain weekly prayer meetings, often Wednesday evenings. The dataset captures 67 churches with documented prayer ministries, including intercession teams, anointing prayer, and corporate fasting. Some churches maintain prayer request forms on their websites, while others maintain confidential prayer chains via email or text. The expanded dataset adds prayer ministry information from churches in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, where house prayer groups and 24/7 prayer rooms are emerging as new expressions of the prayer tradition started in 1949 at the original Calvary Chapel in Santa Ana, California.
